I never would have given much attention to the Finger Lakes if it weren’t for the fact that Jordan grew up here. My neglect, however, was only the result of my naiveté. Thanks to Jordan’s family, I’ve come to regard this corner of the U.S. as a haven, and not just because we come here for holiday festivities. It’s the quiet farm roads, kind neighbors, and lakeside communities that cement the Finger Lakes as a destination that should be visited, not just a place we come between trips.
