The name of this massage therapy practice could not be more apt. If you suffer from back or neck pain, and 8 out of 10 people do at some point in their lives, Blissful Healing is the place for you.

This detour-worthy practice is located in downtown Burlington, Vermont, on Church Street. I stumbled upon the owner, Molly Segelin, during a desperate Google search. My neck had seized up so badly I couldn’t look side to side, and I cried whenever I had to engage my back muscles. I was in such bad shape, it took a couple of sessions to get back to 100 percent, but I left that first one with 90 percent of my mobility back and 100 percent of my pain released.

Molly doesn’t just massage the area in pain, she knows how to get to the root of the problem and release the core tension. Her approach is holistic, taking the whole body into account to figure out what’s causing the imbalance.

She brings a variety of training and skills to the table including cranial sacral therapy, Rolfing, Reiki, medical massage, stone medicine, reflexology, and clinical orthopedic techniques. She’s so good that chiropractors refer their clients to her.

I returned to Vermont a couple years after my initial visit with her and booked another appointment, this time to address new mom body aches. I favor my right side when carrying my daughter and my body feels lopsided as a result. Once again Molly was able to work out the kinks and relieve the tension.

Of course, you don’t have to wait until you’re in crippling pain to book a healing session. The next time you’re in Vermont, head over to Blissful Healing to get your travel kinks worked out.
