Vaughn Pyne recently celebrated his second 11th wedding anniversary. Yes, you read that right. He divorced and then remarried his high school sweetheart. And in between went on a journey of personal growth that led to a career change, and a shift in his overall approach to life.
The thing he says that was missing during his darkest period?
A sense of self.
“The extent you can enjoy your life is connected to your ability to love and accept yourself,” he says.
Personal Growth
Through his journey of self discovery, he found that what he was learning could also have a positive impact on the people around him, especially his coworkers. At the time he was working as a sales trainer but discovered that you can’t train and develop people on technical issues alone.
“If your head’s not right, if you’re not in the right state, you’re not going to be able to use this stuff anyway.”
He started injecting some of the personal development insights into his training seminars, which led to him creating an entire training based on personal development alone.
He has since taken his message outside of the company where it all started and is now on a mission to lower the percentage of disengaged employees across the U.S., which currently hovers around 70 percent.
