What if you could take your schedule and toss it out the window? No more meetings, no more events, no more endless inbox, no more busy life. What if you could ditch all the have-to-dos and just spend a few years doing all your want-to-dos.
Would you do it?
That’s essentially what Jen and Trav Julia did when they decided to sell a lot of their belongings and buy a sailboat. But their motivation was even more admirable than simply taking a break from the busy-ness of life.
They wanted to spend more time together as a family.
That fact became clear one weekend while driving home from a camping and mountain biking weekend in Colorado with their kids. Jen started to cry. “I didn’t want to go back,” she said.
They spent the rest of the drive, and most of that night after they got home, devising a savings and job transition plan that would have them living aboard a sailboat within a year.
They were committed and 14 months later they flew to Florida and moved onto their floating home.
Their story takes them from the Caribbean Islands to the slopes of Chamonix, and between all the adventures and mishaps is a story about a family growing together instead of apart.
In this episode you’ll learn about their whys and hows but above all you’ll get to hear about the great rewards that come from living outside the norm.
